Happy Chinese New Years!!

Well I'm terrible at writing stories, so the photos will do the talking for me.

Well we went on a little photo shoot trip
this is my little brother ( I don't even know what the sign says)

My turn with the unknown sign, but you can see it better here (anyone know what it says? can you read it Rosie?)

umm just another one

I got to hang one up!( I had to ask them)

This arch has been here ever since i was a kid, haha much more infact(like 100 years old)

Me with the ancient pillars

My older "sister" ok,not a boy.

this is a dragon btw,I first thought it was a lion.

This year (according to the Chinese calendar)is the year of the lion explains the cute fellow in the back.

Well this is me with a full view of it( well I was actually taking a break)

My "SISTER"S"turn with the pillars.

A nice looking Lion.

This i'm not sure what it is but it looks important enough,so i took a photo with it.

this the is one of the many temples, thrown around China town.

This is the festive road at night it would look totally awesome.

how much work was put into putting all these up? just for one night! worth my time to awe at them.

The entry to the area they were still painting it so I couldn't get much closer.

we got back and many of our relatives were arriving,so we started a fire and burnt offerings to our ancesters (like money and paper shoes and clothes, gold and so and so)

My little sister having fun(I doubt she even knew why she was burning it.

The paper money he was really tempted to take some home!

Me and a pile of paper gold (I had to fold them too, such a waste of time)

And the high light of the evening I was working hard in the kitchen,I felt quite at home being in the kitchen.

I did 2 ducks and one goose and one chicken in all,ah such joy in hacking my knife to get nice pieces!!!

My lovely end results!! this was only the first duck.

Yes I can read it, i'll explain it to you so you can understand. The first character is Hsin which means "New", the second means "Luck, prosperity, happiness, etc." The third and fourth are "Kuai La" which mean happy. I don't really understand why they put the "luck" character there, cause it should be Nien which mean Year. And it's the year of the Tiger not the lion.
Love ya!
